Planning a wedding probably seems scary to any future wives. From finding the dress, ensuring that everyone RSVPs, to making everything look perfect on the big day, it all seems stressful enough. But planning your own wedding is indeed doable and for those soon-to-be brides who want to be a hundred percent hands-on then this is the best task for you. Here are a few tips on how to plan your own wedding.

Get Organized

Getting organized is one of the most important things to remember when you are planning your wedding. Have your own notebook for the wedding planning where you can easily look for numbers, the guest list, and other important reminders for the big day. You can also use Google Docs or Excel spreadsheets to keep all the necessary information that you will need for the wedding. The good thing about these two is that they can be downloaded straight to your phone so you can use it anywhere and everywhere. There are hundreds of apps for organizing and planning so find one that you like using and make the most out of it.

Plan Accordingly

Plan accordingly and make sure that you stick to your schedule so that you will not feel as if you are drowning closer to the wedding day. If you are not the type to stick to schedule, let your partner help you and set reminders daily, weekly, and monthly, which will let you check up on progress of your planning. Do your research and read everything that you can about planning a wedding. Do not forget that this is still your wedding and you do not have to stick to the “what should be” if you do not want to. Make your own rules and enjoy the process.

Get Help

Let your family and bridesmaids help you. From running errands to meeting with caterers or vendors, friends and family should be glad to help you out especially if they know that you are planning the wedding on your own. You can ask everyone for their schedules prior to starting the planning so that you can fit in the errands to their schedule. This way, you can always have the help or assistance you might need without having to feel like you are demanding all the time from those who are willing to help. On the other hand, you can let them know the things that you need to accomplish for the big day and let them pick out which areas they can help you with.

Ask Vendors Your Questions

Make a list of vendors and do not be afraid to speak to them. Let them know that you are planning a wedding by yourself and you want to be able to pull it off. Being able to let the vendors know about your plans and ideas can help them provide you with the right solutions to all of your wedding needs. Wedding vendors have handled hundreds of weddings so they know the best tricks to what makes an event memorable. Make sure that you take note.
